Hello Health, Are You Visiting Me Today?

Recently, I’ve encountered situations around me that are hitting home when it comes to health. Younger and younger people are suffering from some sort of ailment due to leading an unbalanced lifestyle caused by stress, unfavorable eating patterns, lack of exercise or plain ignorance of one’s body because they feel they are still young and nothing can happen to them.

But it does. And it has.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve learnt of many cases where people are experiencing some sort of life-changing health disorder.  It has to serve as a wake-up call because we are too young and far too intelligent as a human, to turn a blind eye and gamble with our health.

And it doesn’t even take much effort. It simply takes “Switching On.” On, to a Way of Life.

Getting enough sleep, eating right & at the right times, engaging  in some form of exercise daily whether it’s walking, yoga, dance or the gym and also finding a way to create inner-balance is critical to staying healthy.

Inner balance is as important, if not more, to outer balance. It’s important to be able to alleviate stress that accumulates through your day by learning how to switch off and make time for yourself.  This could be by getting lost listening to music, pursuing a hobby, taking a hot bath, reading a good book or maybe just sitting down with a cup of hot cocoa and thinking of things that simply make you smile. Dedicating an evening in your name is a sure way to beat stress out of your week…it’s an evening where everything is about you and what makes you feel good.

Today, most health related ailments are triggered due to stress. I can’t emphasize enough how pertinent it is to figure out your individual health quotient and work out a system that works with your own lifestyle. The irony is that sleep actually makes us feel great. Eating the right foods actually make us feel great. Exercise makes us glow and gets our blood flowing, in essence, it makes us feel great. But we are determined, almost fanatic about not wanting to feel great.

I hope we can all take a vow to love ourselves enough to FEEL GREAT starting NOW!
